New ways in adhesive technologies

PUR hotmelts are widely used in furniture manufacturing. Conventional adhesives, however, contain monomer isocyanates that can cause irritations and allergies upon exposure during machine processing if the processing guidelines are not fully adhered to. To minimize these risks, “micro emission” products containing less than 0.1% of free isocyanates have so far been the means of choice. Adhesives manufacturer Kleiberit in Weingarten has taken the next step and now offers its first fully isocyanate-free reactive hotmelts.
